Mediterranean route on Recumbent bike – 7 days

  • Mediterranean route on Recumbent bike

    Mediterranean route on Recumbent bike

The Mediterranean route wanders along the Mediterranean Sea, on the French side between the sea and salt water lagoons. Sun and water will guide your bucolic ride during the 6 stages of this 290 km route, which is part of the Eurovelo 8 European cycling route, also following the old Roman roads, Vía Domitia and Vía Augusta.

An ideal trip to enjoy the recumbent bike, its relaxed position and its panoramic view, immersed in nature. Riding alongside the sea, you’ll discover quaint villages from Languedoc and Costa Brava, where you will taste delicious gastronomy and famous French and Catalan wines. The tour includes two wine degustations, and visits to the Aiguamolls park and the Empuries ruins (Greco-Roman old villages).

This 6 stage tour is almost totally flat, first alongside the Languedoc coast and then near the Costa Brava, the highest point (altitude 370 m) is just before the frontier between France and Spain at Coll de Panissars.

Narbonne and Girona are now connected through the TGV-AVE high speed trains, allowing an easy access to the start and end of the route.
